Nutrition Officer (NOB) – Fixed Term

Objective

To provide technical, operational, and administrative support in the programming process for nutrition programs/projects. Assist from planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing, and implementing a variety of technical and administrative program tasks in implementation, progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results.

Summary of Key Functions/Accountabilities

  • Support to program development and planning: Contribute to program development and planning processes.
  • Program management, monitoring, and delivery of results: Oversee program management, monitoring, and ensure delivery of results.
  • Technical and operational support to program implementation: Provide technical and operational support for program implementation.
  • Networking and partnership building: Foster relationships with stakeholders and build partnerships.
  • Innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building: Promote innovation, manage knowledge, and build capacity within the team.

Reporting Relationships

The Nutrition Officer NOB Fixed Term reports to the Nutrition Specialist for supervision, under the overall technical supervision of the Chief, Nutrition. The Officer provides professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the provincial programming process for the nutrition programs/projects within the Country Program from development planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing, and implementing a variety of technical and administrative program tasks to facilitate program development, implementation, and program progress monitoring, evaluating, and reporting of results in the designated area of Sindh.

Qualifications

To qualify as an advocate for every child, you will have:

  • Education: A University Degree (Bachelor’s) in nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or, nutritional epidemiology or other health-related science management, health sciences field is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, and/or in relevant areas of maternal, infant, and child health/nutrition care at the international level and/or in a developing country is required.
  • Assets: Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset. Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
