Position: Assistant Dietitian
Location: Dr. Ziauddin Group of Hospitals, Sukkur Campus
Job Summary:
Dr. Ziauddin Group of Hospitals is seeking an Assistant Dietitian for its Sukkur Campus. The Assistant Dietitian will assess patients’ nutritional needs, develop individualized nutrition care plans, and collaborate with the Clinical Dietitian to provide nutritional counseling and education. This role requires a holistic approach to patient care, considering cultural, social, and economic factors to optimize dietary plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical rotations in hospital wards under the supervision of a Clinical Nutritionist.
- Assess patients’ nutritional needs, dietary restrictions, and health status to develop appropriate dietary care plans.
- Provide nutritional counseling and education to patients and their families.
- Inspect patient meals to ensure compliance with prescribed diets and hospital standards for quality and presentation.
- Stay updated on clinical nutrition trends and incorporate them into patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Document and maintain accurate records of patient dietary plans and progress.
- Monitor and adjust nutrition care plans based on patient feedback and progress.
Knowledge & Competencies:
- Clinical Nutrition Expertise: Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition and dietetics.
- Patient Assessment: Ability to assess patient nutrition needs and develop tailored care plans.
- Interpersonal Skills: Proficiency in working with a diverse healthcare team, including doctors and nurses.
- Communication: Clear communication of nutritional information to patients and healthcare staff.
- Nutritional Knowledge: In-depth understanding of macro- and micronutrients and their impact on health.
- Food Service Systems: Familiarity with food preparation and service standards in healthcare.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: BS in Dietetics and Nutrition.
- Professional Certification: Must hold relevant qualifications, including a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) registration.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Trainee Dietitian in a reputed hospital.
